Esther Bunning

NZIPP Grand Master of Photography, a finalist for the Parkin Drawing Prize in 2021 and 2022, NZ Photographer of the Year 2020, has a style that is innovative, enigmatic and instantly recognisable.

Her new work is an exploration of how we experience the threads of the land around us in NZ, and our connection to this. All done in camera, the double exposed images are printed on silk and rephotographed in an organic state, represented as ‘silk’ stories (with individual overstitched embroidery) as limited editions.
