Gemma Robinson

Gemma Robinson is a Wellington based artist whose bronze sculptures are created using the lost wax technique, also known as investment casting. The method of casting bronze is 6000 years old. The stages are to make a wax model, create a ceramic shell, de-wax [empty the shell to create a negative mould], heat and pour the wax, then pour the metal, grind, sand, and sandblast the cast metal, and finally apply patina and wax coating to protect the surface.

Gemma rarely exhibits, and is delighted to be sharing her work at Pariwhero Gallery.

Unfortunately there is nothing to display at this time.
